What is the Design Process?
There are three steps before we can begin our design process.
1. We require a 50% deposit on all design projects.
2. We will provide you with a logo questionnaire. This
helps us get a better idea of basic needs and ideas. We want
to get your logo designed in one concept if possible. We can
have most questions answered in this manner.
3. We will send you a work agreement stating the work
we will be doing including the estimated price.
After those three steps are completed, we move onto the actual
design. We provide you with your concepts in a GIF/JPEG file
via email. Once you review the design, if there is any editing
of fonts and colors, you send us changes via email. We then
make the necessary corrections and send the design back to
you until the logo is completed. When the logo is finished,
we send you the completed files. Final payment is expected
at the time of delivery.
Can the entire logo project be executed
over the web?
Yes. We have worked with numerous clients long distance. Some
clients, we worked with solely, via the Internet and e-mail.
Since all of our designs are delivered via e-mail, it is very
convenient for our clients to review them when they are ready.
No appointments are necessary!
What are the first steps to the
project?
We will require a deposit of 50% to begin. This is applied
towards your consultation and design time. We also ask that
you fill out a more formal questionnaire to help us better
understand your needs. Lastly, we will send you a work agreement
stating the services we will provide in detail, and ask for
a signature. Once we receive the deposit, contract, and questionnaire
via fax or mail, we will begin your logo design.
How will I see my logos during the design process?
We will send your logos to you in a file format called GIF/JPEG.
There is no any download required to read these files. Microsoft
Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator can easily read these
files. They allow us to send you files that normally would
require special programs and long download times.
What
payment methods do you accept?
We currently only accept direct transfer to our bank account.
The Bank will normaly charge US$ 20-30 to transfer the money
(outside Indonesia only).
How
will the logo be delivered once it is completed?
We will send your logo to you via email. We prefer to send
it in a WinZip file. Macintosh users can download their logos
from a web site if needed. Please let us know your preference
in advance.
What formats will the logo be sent as after completion?
We will send your logo in a various file format for different
purposes. We will provide the file in several major graphic
file format, so you don't have to worry about compatibility.
For example, your logo in an EPS file type can be taken to
any print shop to be printed or resized. EPS files are fully
scalable, so you aren't locked into a certain dimension. You
can print at any resolution with this file. We also send you
a black and white version of your logo in EPS for any one-color
printing needs. Finally, we will be happy to send you a GIF
or JPEG file in low resolution for your web site needs.
What is the turn around time for the logo design?
It takes 10-20 business days to complete each design concept
once all of the required information is obtained.
How many colors should I use?
We suggest no more than 4 colors in your logo to keep printing
costs down. Keep in mind, most corporate logos are 1 or 2
colors. We prefer 2 color designs above all.
What is the difference between an icon-based logo and a
text-based logo?
An icon-based logo is a logo that has an image that stands
apart from the wording of your company. Some companies prefer
to keep just the text the main focus of the logo, hence the
term 'text-based logo'/logotype.
Can I use my logo in other programs like Word?
Yes. We can prepare you a file if you require a special size
for other files. High-resolution BMP, TIFF and GIF files will
be supplied for a small fee. Please let us know in advance
if possible.
Can I use my logo on my web site?
Yes. You can use the low-resolution image we provide because
it is web-ready. If you have a particular dimension you need
your logo sized to, we would be more than happy to resize
it for you at the time of initial delivery.
How do I give my logo to my printer?
You can provide your printer with the EPS file we send you.
It is Macintosh and PC compatible.
What is a design draft?
Our design drafts are logos that are complete, but are still
able to be edited. We show you logo concepts in the form that
we think would be suitable for you to use immediately. We
understand that you may want to edit colors, fonts and other
minor elements, so we consider the concept a draft until completion.
We already have a logo, but I need it traced for printing
use, can you do that?
Yes. We can take your existing logo and trace it for your
printing use. We will need to see the logo to determine the
time it will take to reproduce it for you. We will supply
you with an EPS file that you can use for any of your printing
needs.
We
have a logo that we like the concept of, but it lacks the
style that we are looking for. Can you take our concept and
make it better?
We will always evaluate your logo concepts before we promise
anything. Most of the time the concepts given to us can be
re-worked.
Do
you work with companies out of the country (Indonesia)?
Of course! We provide convenient payments via credit card
to out-of-country clients. We can handle every aspect of the
process via email, including consultations.
You designed my logo and I lost my files. What can I do?
We keep your logo files on record for at least one year. In
the event that your logo cannot be retrieved, we will re-create
the logo for a fee based on an hourly rate.
How should I save my logo for future use?
After we send you the logo files, we suggest that you have
the files burned on CD or backed up to more than one Zip Disc.
Creating multiple archives is one way to ensure your logo
will not be lost.
Who retains the rights to the design you provide us with?
You own your logo design. Once final payment is made, we transfer
all rights to you.
What if there is a company using a similar name to mine?
We suggest contacting your accountant or lawyer and registering
your name before having a logo designed. This avoids the potential
problem of your name being rejected and having to scrap your
logo.
Can you register my logo as a trademark
when finished?
No. This is a very delicate issue that should be handled by
a professional. You should contact an attorney if you would
like assistance for a trademark.
